Position Title: Nurse Practitioner

Overview
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients' health concerns across various settings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Assessment:
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
- Evaluate patients’ medical conditions and determine appropriate diagnostic tests.

2. Diagnosis and Treatment:
- Diagnose acute and chronic health issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapies as needed in accordance with state regulations.

3. Patient Education:
- Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
- Counsel patients and families regarding treatment options and health-related concerns.

4. Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Refer patients to specialists as necessary.

5. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Document clinical findings and treatment plans in electronic health records (EHR).

6. Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
- Stay current with advancements in nursing practice and healthcare regulations.

7. Professional Development:
- Engage in continuous education and professional development activities.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops as required.

8. Regulatory Compliance:
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding patient care.

 

Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Tennessee.
- Certification by a recognized national board (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of patient care protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

-Position is in a Family Practice 
- Monday through Friday
